1. Overview
Dreamwall handles thousands of images every day — both those we have created ourselves, those uploaded by our customers, and those generated by AI models. We take copyright seriously and expect the same from you as a customer.
As a general rule:
- You own your upload. We only have the right to print what you ask us to.
- AI-generated content has its own rules — see section 3.
- Our designs are protected — you may use them privately after purchase, but not reproduce or resell them.
- You are responsible for ensuring that what you upload can be uploaded.
2. Your Own Uploads
When you upload a photo for a photo poster, a photo wallpaper, or a personalised product, you retain full copyright to the image. You only grant us a limited license to:
- Temporarily store the image on our servers
- Adjust size, cropping, and format for printing
- Print the desired number of copies
- Send them to the address you have specified
We do not sell, rent, or share your uploads with third parties. The images are automatically deleted from our servers no later than 90 days after order completion.
We also do not reproduce your private content on our website, social media, or marketing materials without your explicit consent.
3. AI-Generated Content (Imaginator)
When you use our AI image generator Imaginator, you receive a unique image generated based on your prompt. This image is produced by generative AI models and is subject to special rules:
Your Rights
- You have usage rights to the image for personal use — print, display on your wall, store as a digital file.
- You may share the image privately with family and friends.
- Commercial use (resale, use in company products, advertising) requires a separate agreement — contact us.
Our Rights
- We reserve the right to store the prompt anonymised to improve our AI models.
- We do not publicly display your generated images without consent.
Restrictions on Prompts
You may not prompt for:
- Known individuals without their consent (politicians, artists, athletes, etc.)
- Protected characters from movies, TV shows, brands, or games (Mickey Mouse, Star Wars characters, Pokémon, Apple logos, etc.)
- Existing artists' unique styles where the creator is clearly identifiable
- Pornographic, violent, or otherwise offensive content
- Content that promotes illegal activity
We reserve the right to refuse the production of AI-generated content that violates the above — even if the prompt has passed through the AI model's own filters.
4. Dreamwall's Own Designs
All posters, canvases, wallpapers, and motifs we sell on dreamwall.art are protected by copyright. This includes:
- Original designs created by our in-house design team
- Exclusive collaborations with artists
- Processed licensed motifs
- Our product photos, marketing images, and webshop texts
When you purchase a product, you acquire the right to hang it on your private wall and enjoy it. You do not acquire:
- The right to reproduce the motif in other media (printing on t-shirts, postcards, other webshops)
- The right to resell the motif itself or photographs thereof
- The right to use the motif commercially (marketing your own business, etc.)
- The right to sublicense or share digital files of the motif
Use of our designs in commercial contexts requires a written license agreement with Dreamwall. Write to info@dreamwall.art.
5. Stock Images & Licenses
Part of our catalog is built on licensed stock images from suppliers like Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, and similar. Dreamwall has acquired the necessary licenses to print and sell the images — you as a customer do not need to handle licenses yourself.
As with our own designs, however, the motif may be used privately on your wall, but not resold, copied, or used commercially by you.
6. Portraits & Personal Rights
If you upload an image showing identifiable individuals (family, friends, pet owners), you must have the right to reproduce these. This also applies to recognizable logos or brands on clothing and backgrounds.
You warrant that:
- The individuals have given their consent to appear in the printed image
- If the image contains minors, the guardian has given consent
- Any brands, logos, or architecture in the image do not infringe on others' rights
We print the image in good faith — but the responsibility for ensuring that the upload can be uploaded lies with you.
7. Reproduction in Marketing
When you tag #DreamwallHome or @dreamwall.art on Instagram, you grant us a license to repost your image on our own social media as well as to a limited extent on our website and marketing materials.
You can request us to remove a reposted image at any time by writing to info@dreamwall.art — it will be removed within 7 days.
8. Report an Infringement (DMCA-style notice)
If you believe that content on dreamwall.art infringes your copyright, we ask you to send a written request with:
- Description of the infringed work and documentation of your ownership
- URL or product number of the Dreamwall content you believe infringes
- Your contact information
- A statement that you in good faith believe the use is unauthorized
- Your signature (digital or scanned)
Send the report to info@dreamwall.art with the subject "Copyright — Infringement Report". We will process the report within 5 business days and temporarily remove the content while we investigate the matter.
9. Your Responsibility as a Customer
With every upload or AI prompt, you warrant that:
- You hold the copyright to the image, or have received full permission from the rights holder
- The use does not infringe on others' rights (personal rights, brand rights, architecture)
- The content is not illegal, infringing, or offensive
Damages Dreamwall suffers due to your infringement — e.g., claims from third parties, attorney fees, litigation costs — may be claimed from you.
